WWDC 2010 Wrap Up: New iPhone! (Should Have Been Called The iPhone Conference)

Steve Jobs came on stage and did his thing:

He started off by giving Sales numbers about the iPad. The iPad is selling every 3 seconds. Impressive.

The new iPhone was announced and its called: the iPhone 4! Really?? The iPhone 4??

The iPhone 4 is what the Gizmodo guys leaked so no surprise there.

iPhone 4 specs:

  • New Design (Check Gizmodo leaks)
  • 960 x 640 for a 4X overall pixel count increase — Apple calls it a “Retina Display.”
  • A4 processor that runs the iPad.
  • 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music
  • Gyroscope(????)
  • 5 megapixel camera with illuminated sensor with 5x Zoom
  • HD video recording at 30fps

The new iPhone 4 will sell $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB which is a good deal. Available June 24th. Preorders staring June 15th.

All in all, that was the high points of the WWDC event.

Disappointing with lack of news about the new iTunes and lack of Apple TV. Not even a hint. This was just about the new iPhone.

Hopefully, other stuff will spill out later this year.
